PagerDuty is a long-standing on-call and incident management platform. It receives alerts from monitoring tools, routes them to whoever is on call according to schedules and escalation rules, and keeps a record of each incident from first alert to resolution.

Its AI features group related alerts so responders see one incident instead of dozens of pages, suggest likely causes from past incidents, and draft status updates and postmortem summaries. Teams use it with chat tools such as Slack and Microsoft Teams to run incidents from a channel. Before turning on automation that acts on alerts, agree on which actions it may take without a human and test them outside an incident. It also offers status pages and analytics on response times, which help show whether on-call load is fair across the team.
